Delete Your Account

How to request deletion of your Sakhi & Me account and data, what gets removed, and what we are legally required to keep.

Requesting deletion of your Sakhi & Me account

Operated by Mehphil Technology Private Limited

Effective Date: 29 August 2026

You can permanently close your Sakhi & Me account at any time. This page explains how to make the request, what data is erased, and the small amount we are required by Indian law to retain.

How to request deletion

From inside the app — immediate.

1. Open Sakhi & Me and go to Settings.
2. Tap Account Settings.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm with Yes, delete account.

Your account is closed and your personal details are erased straight away. The action cannot be undone.

By email — if you can no longer sign in.

Write to support@mehphil.com from any address, with the subject line Delete my account, and include the phone number registered to the account. We verify ownership before acting, then complete the deletion within 30 days.

What is deleted

The following are erased permanently and cannot be recovered:

• Your profile: name, phone number, avatar, gender and language preference
• Voice recordings submitted with a Host application
• Identity and KYC documents
• Screenshots you attached to any report
• Favourites, blocked users, notification tokens and app settings
• Billing addresses and payout details
• Your Host application and Host profile, if you had one

What is retained, and why

Indian tax and company law requires us to keep records of financial transactions. After deletion we retain, in a form no longer linked to your name or phone number:

• Payment records and GST tax invoices for coin purchases
• Wallet transaction history
• Call records, reduced to duration and billing data

These are kept for eight years, the period required under the Companies Act, 2013 and the GST rules, after which they are destroyed. They are not used to contact you, to build a profile, or for any purpose other than statutory record-keeping and responding to a lawful request from an authority.

Reports made about you by other users are retained for safety and enforcement purposes, without your personal identifiers.

Your coin balance

Any unused coins are forfeited when your account is deleted and cannot be refunded or transferred. If you hold a balance you want to use, spend it before requesting deletion.

Recurring payments

If you set up a UPI AutoPay mandate, deleting your account stops all future debits. You can also cancel the mandate directly in your UPI app at any time, independently of your Sakhi & Me account.

Deleting your data without closing your account

You do not have to close your account to have information removed. There are two routes.

Remove it yourself in the app — immediate.

• Profile details — change or clear your display name, avatar and language from your profile at any time.
• Blocked users — Settings → Account Settings → Blocked Listeners, then unblock to remove the record.
• Billing address and GSTIN — Settings → Account Settings → Billing Address, then clear the fields.
• Favourites — remove any Host from your favourites list.
• Notifications — turning off notifications removes the token stored for your device.

Ask us to remove it — within 30 days.

1. Email support@mehphil.com with the subject line Delete my data.
2. Include the phone number registered to your account.
3. Say what you would like removed — for example your voice recording, KYC documents, or report attachments.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder, then delete what we can and reply confirming what was removed and what was kept.

What cannot be removed while your account stays open. Your phone number is how you sign in, so it cannot be erased without closing the account. Payment records and GST tax invoices must also be retained for eight years as described above, whether or not your account remains open. To remove everything we are permitted to remove, close the account using the steps at the top of this page.
