Safety Center

How safety is built into Sakhi & Me, and how to report a concern.

Sakhi & Me Trust and Safety Center

Operated by Mehphil

Effective Date: 23 August 2026

Sakhi & Me connects Customers and Hosts through paid audio and video Calls, and safety is built into how we designed the Platform, not added on afterward. Every Host completes identity verification before they can receive a Call. Every Call can be reported or blocked in a single tap. A dedicated Safety Team reviews reports and a limited sample of Calls to catch violations of our Community Guidelines. And every enforcement decision can be appealed.

This page explains, plainly, what we do to keep Sakhi & Me safe, what tools you have as a Customer or Host, and how to reach us or outside authorities if you ever need to.

We are in the process of building out independent third-party review of our safety and compliance practices. We will update this page, and our Effective Date above, as soon as that review is complete, rather than make claims about it in advance.

Safety Tools

Verification at Onboarding

Every user, Customer or Host, verifies their Account with a live mobile number through an SMS one-time password before they can use Sakhi & Me. This is our first line of defence against fake and duplicate Accounts.

Hosts go through an additional verification step before they can receive Calls. This includes Aadhaar and/or PAN verification through our KYC partner, and a live selfie or short video match to confirm that the person operating the Account is who they say they are. A Host cannot go live on the Platform until this verification is complete.

Call Moderation

Sakhi & Me does not routinely record or store every Call. We believe that reflects the trust our users place in a companionship platform. What we do instead is review a limited, targeted sample of Calls, specifically those flagged by a user report, or selected by our automated safety systems for review, and use them to catch violations of our Community Guidelines and to keep improving those systems over time.

Any Call selected for review in this way is handled under strict access controls: only authorised members of our Safety Team and their bound moderation partners can access it, access is logged, and the recording is deleted once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was reviewed for. Full detail on this is in our Privacy Policy.

Human Review and Enforcement

Reports and flagged Calls are reviewed by our Safety Team, who classify each case by severity and take enforcement action proportionate to what happened, ranging from a warning to a permanent Account ban, as described in our Community Guidelines. The most serious violations, including anything involving the sexualisation or endangerment of a minor, are escalated and acted on immediately, without waiting for a routine review cycle.

Reporting and Blocking

You are always in control of who can reach you on Sakhi & Me:

  • block another user at any time, from their profile or from an active Call, to stop them contacting you again;
  • report a Call, a profile, or specific behaviour directly from the app, and our Safety Team will review it; and
  • end any Call immediately if you feel uncomfortable, without any obligation to explain why.

Appeals

If we take action on your Account and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal by writing to our Grievance Officer using the details below. We will review your case and respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

Transparency

We believe users deserve to know how safety enforcement is actually going on the Platform they use, not just that a policy exists on paper.

Sakhi & Me is a new platform, and we do not yet have a period of live usage data to report on. Once we do, we commit to publishing a regular transparency report covering, at minimum, the volume of user reports received, the proportion of Accounts actioned for Community Guidelines violations, and our response times on reports and grievances. We will publish our first report within a reasonable period after launch and will link it from this page going forward.
